Happy holidays!
Today I’d like to share with you the gingerbread house Britta and I tried putting together. It was made with love, sweat, tears, determination and…..it only held up for about 30 minutes before collapsing. Very tragic!! :(
Me and Britta decided to have a day together focused on Christmas activities. One of the activities was making a gingerbread house. Being a great baker, Britta had a family recipe for homemade gingerbread!! So that’s exactly what we used. And Britta took the time to find a stencil of the gingerbread house she wanted to make.

Making the yummy gingerbread dough!

Working on the gingerbread house stencil (we ended up getting it printed)!!

Cutting out the pieces we need to build our perfect home!!
Everything was going smoothly until we actually started the process of gluing our house together. Granted, we were pretty impatient and didn’t take the time to properly let our glue set before decorating.

Looking pretty until its demise!!

Using cans to try & hold it together! Slowly falling apart!!

Took away the cans & it all fell down!! :(

Time to eat our once beautiful gingerbread house!!
Long story short, we were DEVASTATED!! However, we decided to move on from our misfortunes and made some gingerbread men!

Making the men!!

So cute! Still sad about our house falling apart though!!
All in all, making a gingerbread house from complete scratch is HARD! It was very delicious though so there’s that! You win some, you lose some.
Again, happy holidays! May you all eat some good gingerbread this year!
Thanks for reading.
Love, Sam! 💛
