This May, May of 2026 has been a very gentle and healing month for me. My time has been filled with love, kindness, wholesomeness, and mini adventures. Some of these moments experienced solo and some experienced with loved ones, and/or some experienced with other humans passing through my life.
The things this month that have stood out the most to me have included
- me baking more artisan bread
- the blooming flowers (allergies are not fun this season though)
- my roommate Britta’s sister visiting
- my friend Emma visiting me for a weekend adventure
- learning about random facts & talking about philosophical ideas (a little side note because learning is fun and so is talking about deep things with other people)

My baking skills are mediocre, but this month I’ve been making artisan bread! Jalapeño cheddar & herb artisan bread to be specific ! Homemade bread tastes so yummy & wholesome, and you only need a few ingredients to make artisan bread !

I am in love with all the flowers blossoming around New Mexico! Most started blossoming early spring, but I’ve taken more notice of all the beautiful flowers ((many more not pictured)) during this last month. Very grounding both physically and mentally.

My roommate Britta’s sister Lainy came for a few days! I hadn’t seen her since September and during her visit we went rollerblading/rollerskating, had multiple fires in our backyard with a charcuterie board & homemade chocolate cake, and peacefully lounged around talking about life!

My friend Emma came to visit! It was her first time in New Mexico & we did an abundance of things over the span of a few days! I was able to show her the town of Mesilla, we went to a blues festival and danced barefoot in the grass, we went camping (her first time tent camping), we went to the hot springs, we went stargazing, and we had lots of little side quests (creating art, cooking, random pit stops, etc).
Many things I’ve experienced this month haven’t been photographed. I’ve been engaged in the present moment & soaking up all the goodness this month had to offer me! Regardless, thanks for reading and for taking the time to dive into my world for a little bit.
Love, Sam! đź’›
